Scope of position:

The Consulate General of France in Boston is currently seeking a Bilingual Executive Assistant to provide administrative support for the Consul General. This full-time position, ideally beginning on September 5, 2018, involves interaction with many governmental entities including the State Department and the French Embassy in Washington, DC. Utmost professionalism and confidentiality are required. Successful applicants must be willing and able to perform any of the roles outlined in the relevant duty statements. Candidates must be bilingual in French and in English. Applicants must either be American citizens or permanent residents.

The ideal applicants possess:

1. Excellent communication skills in French and English (spoken and written), native English speaker preferred
2. Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
3. Excellent interpersonal skills and capacity to maintain high service standards
4. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and to prioritize tasks
5. Ability to work well under pressure
6. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar position

Executive Assistant responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Daily management of the Consul General’s agenda
• Managing the Consul General’s transportation in Boston and in New England
• Extensive Event planning (dinners, lunches, receptions)
• Coordinating logistics with the staff at the Residence of France
• Responding to multiple phone lines
• Drafting/formatting/proofreading various documents in English and in French
• Preparation of speeches/presentation materials
• Developing, implementing and maintaining a filing system
• Travel planning – local/domestic/international
• Preparing official consular visits for the Consul General and for visiting officials (coordination with a combination of partners on scheduling)
• Greeting of the Consul General’s guests, providing beverage service as needed
• Managing the “Legion of Honor” decoration program (preparing proposal files, organizing award ceremonies)
• Helping others departments as needed

Salary and Benefits

• $4,327/month
• Health insurance coverage varies depending on the nationality
• 25 days paid vacation + 12 days-off paid in compensation from duty service over the phone
