The Boston Early Music Festival is back this year with, once again, a selection of performances by French artists. This biannual rendez-vous with medieval, Renaissance and baroque music has been called "the world’s leading festival of early music" by The Times. This year’s edition will feature as its centerpiece Monteverdi’s trilogy of operas, Ulisse, Poppea and Orfeo, staged by the BEMF’s resident stage director Gilbert Blin, from Paris (pictured left). The operas will be staged several times throughout the week in various locations. Concerto Soave a Marseille-based chamber ensemble (pictured right) playing a baroque repertoire, will make their US debut on Tuesday, June 9 at 5 p.m.
