March 14: Voyages en Francophonie at Lexington
Voyages en Francophonie is returning for its 4th edition at Jonas Clarke Middle School March 14 as part of the Month of the Francophonie. The event, organized by Education Française Greater Boston (EFGB), runs from 10 am to 6 pm and celebrates the cultures of ten different French-speaking countries across 4 continents. From 10 am to 4 pm, there will be a series of smaller events and workshops, for example, a puppet show, a talent show, a song-writing workshops, and a movie screening of Couleur de Peau: Miel.. After 4 pm, a series of mini-concerts will take place until Lexington’s Dance Around the World event starts.
Voyages en Francophonie will host native speakers, artists & chefs, a scavenger hunt organized for kids, and installations to teach about different countries’ traditions, dances, music, cuisine and arts. Learn how to play the Djembe drum with Sidy Maiga or belly-dancing with Somaya at the Moroccan stall. There will be Senegalese, Belgium and French food available for your purchase, and the event will offer a new and used book sale and magazine subscriptions.
