Two-day colloquium: Foucault’s "Les Mots et les Choses"
Harvard University’s Center for European Studies ( 27 Kirkland Street at Cabot Way, Cambridge) will hold a two-day conference on the works and thought of French philosopher Michel Foucault on Friday and Saturday, April 17-18. Organized in anticipation of the 50th anniversary of his watershed publication in social theory The Order of Things (Les Mots et les choses) in 1966, it will focus on this work, its legacy and its place in Foucault’s opus. The conference will also explore other works and aspects of Foucault’s thought. It will feature eminent speakers from France and the United States, such as Vincent Descombes, Frédéric Worms or Jean-Claude Monod.
