A Veteran’s Decoration at WaterFire Providence: A Great Combination for Emotion!
In recognition of Seaman Ernest F. Corvese’s actions and extraordinary accomplishments, the President of the French Republic, François Hollande, nominated him to the Legion of Honor with the rank of Chevalier.
On Saturday, July 9, Mr. Corvese was decorated by Valéry Freland, Consul general of France in Boston, at WaterFire Providence, an incredible show on the river that takes place most Saturdays through November 5.
For more information about the show, please visit the WaterFire Providence website.
Napoleon Bonaparte created the Legion of Honor in 1802 to reward extraordinary accomplishments and outstanding services rendered to France. It is France’s highest distinction and one of the most coveted in the world.
Many thanks to photographer Michael Tollestrup for his wonderfully taken photos.
