Academic Contests

Each year, the Consulate organizes one or two academic contests for New England schools, from middle school and high school (and sometimes college) to immersion schools and French schools.

These contests provide students an excellent opportunity to apply the skills they have learned in their French classes. Winners receive a special diploma and recognition.

Numerous prizes are granted to all participating schools.

2015 Contest: "Le Vent dans les Voiles de l’Hermione" (Middle and High Schools)

Register YOUR class in this original contest created exclusively for New England Middle and High school students of French - a creative way to celebrate the arrival of the "Hermione’’, Lafayette’s 1780 frigate, during its 2015 American tour!

"Le Vent dans les Voiles de l’Hermione" is a contest organized by the Cultural and Educational Services of the Consulate General of France in Boston for the arrival of the frigate l’Hermione (Lafayette’s ship when he sailed to America in 1780) in Boston on July 11, 2015 and the United Nation’s upcoming Climate Change Conference in Paris in December 2015. Students in French are invited to build an eco-friendly sail that illustrates the history of the Hermione and promotes environmental awareness.

Your class’s sail must be submitted by March 15, 2015 . The results of the contest will be disclosed on March 27, 2015, during the “Matinée de la Francophonie”.
