CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS - French American Innovation Day (FAID



As part of the organisation of its flagship seminar, the French American Innovation Day (FAID), the Office of Science and Technology of the French Embassy in the US (Boston section) is seeking
4 motivated and international-oriented volunteers

The FAID seminar will be focusing on Alzheimer’s disease and will be held at the Broad institute of MIT and Harvard (Kendall Square). An international attendance of 150 prominent French & American scientists is expected.


Part-time during over 3 days (December 1 - December 3) with a minimum of 3 hours per day to help prepare the event and all day on December 6, 2010 during the event.

What we offer

Individuals who apply and are selected can expect to have excellent opportunity to develop European acquaintances within the field of Science & Technology, especially with regards to Alzheimer’s disease. Also the volunteer will be part of a dynamic and friendly team and will also be invited to the Residence of France in Cambridge for a post-event reception featuring the guest speakers.

What you will be expected to do?

- Promote the event (calling stakeholders in field of Alzheimer’s disease research / distributing seminar flyers in the science faculties around Boston)
- Preparing the badges

- Helping with the setting-up of the seminar (banner, screen, tables, etc)

- Manning the reception desk

- Working in the cloakroom

- Helping the attendees and provide information

Qualifications required

- A scientific background

- A high interest for scientific research in general

- Excellent networking skills

- Good French language skills
