French American Innovation Day (FAID) - December 6th - Harvard Medical School

French American Innovation Day (FAID)
«Science and Innovation: Translational Breakthroughs and Challenges »

December 6th
Harvard Medical School
(The Josef B. Martin Conference Center)

Organized by the Office of Science & Technology of the Embassy of France in the United States (OST), the French American Innovation Day (FAID) is designed to emphasize a specific topic that is significant to science, therapeutics and innovation. As an example, the 2010 FAID addressed the latest research in Alzheimer’s disease (AD) in France and the United States. The Massachusetts Life Sciences Center (MLSC) along with corporate sponsors (Pfizer, Guerbet, etc.) and the Broad Institute of Harvard & MIT partnered with OST. The event attracted more than one hundred experts both from industry and academia of the two countries.

For the 2011 edition the OST is partnering with Grenoble Innovation for Advanced New Technologies (GIANT) Campus. Entitled « Science and Innovation: Translational Breakthroughs and Challenges », the 2011 FAID will give the opportunity to explore ways to enhance and speed up innovation for health and new technologies through 4 interactive sessions. Professor Eva Pebay-Peyroula will be the French scientific director of the FAID seminar. She is a renowned scientist, member of the French Academy of Science as well as president of the French National Research Agency (ANR), French NSF counterpart. Professor Eva Pebay-Peyroula is leading the Institut de Biologie Structurale/CNRS (IBS) in Grenoble dedicated to functional and structural aspects of membrane proteins.

FAID 2011 includes a call for projects addressing U.S. based PhD candidates and intended to generate innovative projects. The laureate project will be awarded by OST.

OST is happy to receive expression of interest for FAID 2011. Please write to:
