"Theranostics and Biology: Know-How Challenges, Applications & Breakthroughs"

French American Innovation days 2009 : Symposium on the "Theranostics & Cancer" and $300K Scientific Projects Competition.

FAID is an annual French American symposium that aims to foster the development of collaborations between France and the USA in an innovative research area.

For this edition, 2009 FAID is organized in partnership with an industrial partner, Mérieux Alliance, and is held during two consecutive days on December 3rd and 4th 2009.

The 2009 FAID is dedicated to "Theranostics and Biology: Know-How Challenges, Applications & Breakthroughs".

On the first day, speakers will establish the state-of-the-art of Theranostics, biomarkers used in oncology; under the direction of Profs Fabien Calvo (French National Cancer Institute, INCa, Paris) and Mauro Ferrari (Director of the Center of nano-medicine, Texas) and with the contribution of Dr Susan Windham-Bannister, president and CEO at Massachussetts Life Sciences Center and Dr. Elizabeth Mansfield, senior genomics advisor at U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

The second day will review, through snap-shot presentations and posters, diverse emerging and innovative entrepreneurial initiatives arising from the Boston scientific community and beyond, in presence of key opinion leader scientists but also industry representatives and private investors. These project will be exposed to the scientific committee (and the attendees) which will provide to the best project a Mérieux grant of € 300,000.
