French Consulate in Boston Excellence Award

The French Consulate in Boston Excellence Award, organized for the fifth consecutive year, rewards a New England student who stayed in France during their studies, who was particularly active for talking about their student experience in France on their campus and for encouraging other students to go.
Previous contests were won by Saiful Saleem from Boston University, Jean-Paul Honegger from Bowdoin College, Arielle de Souza from University of Rhode Island, Nathalie Reyes from Salem State University and Casey Donahue from Salve Regina University. The France on Campus Award has also been launched on a national level.
The contest is organized by the Cultural Service of the Consulate general of France in Boston, with the Cultural Services of the French Embassy in the United States and with the platform France Alumni USA.
Any teacher in a graduate or undergraduate school located in one of the five states of the consular district of Boston (Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts and Rhode Island) can designate one candidate, without distinction of nationality or level.
The selection criteria are as following:
Quality of their experience in France: for example, if the student particularly improved their level of French during the time spent in France or did a significant internship / extracurricular activities during their stay;
Sharing of their experience with other students: nomination as “student ambassador” for the studies in France, production of a guide about France, organization of a meeting about studies in France, etc.;
Student projects of the student related to France for the future.
If you wish to nominate one of your students, please send back the form bellow signed and scanned to the address firstname.lastname@example.org before Thursday, May 9th at 11.59 p.m. EST. A confirmation email will then be sent. If you do not receive confirmation of your participation within 48 hours, please let us know. You can also forward this information to any teacher who might wish to designate an eligible student.
The winner of the contest will be selected and designated mid-May by a jury composed of the Consul General of France in Boston, the Academic Attaché in Washington, the Cultural Attaché in Boston and the Academic Project Manager. Results will be sent by email.
The prize will consist of a letter of commendation and a present. It will be awarded by the Consul General or the Cultural Attaché. A video portrait of the winner will be published on the France Alumni USA website and on the website of the Consulate. All the other candidates will receive a certificate of achievement that will be sent by mail.
