March 26: Café des entrepreneurs #9

The next cafe des entrepreneurs will take place March 26, starting at 6 p.m., at the French Consul’s Residence! The special guest will be Daniel Serfaty, founder and chairman of Aptima Inc. and chairman of Aptima Ventures LLC. Aptima Inc. aims to engineer tools and systems that increase human capabilities. Two other entrepreneurs will also present their businesses: Jérôme Windsor for Median Technologies and Johnny Hujol for WOO Sports.

Biography for Daniel Serfaty?:
As Aptima’s Principal Founder, Daniel Serfaty has established and implemented an ambitious vision for Aptima as the premier Human-Centered Engineering business in the world. In addition to his corporate governance duties as Chairman, his work continues to involve the leadership of inter-disciplinary research and development projects for U.S. government agencies and private industries. These efforts aim at optimizing factors that drive cognitive, behavioral, and organizational performance and integrating humans with technologies in large-scale socio-technical systems. In early 2014, he led the launch of a sister company to Aptima, named Aptima Ventures, dedicated to the commercialization of Aptima’s considerable intellectual property in human performance. Initial ventures in the new company’s portfolio are in the fields of predictive medical analytics, enterprise performance systems, and education technologies.

His many industry activities include leadership of various technology forums, and serving on the board of directors of several technology businesses, and on senior advisory boards of academic, educational, and non-profit institutions.

Daniel Serfaty’s academic background includes undergraduate degrees in mathematics, psychology, and engineering from the Université de Paris and the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology, an MS in aerospace engineering (Technion), and an MBA in International Management from the University of Connecticut. His Doctoral work at the University of Connecticut pioneered a systematic approach to the analysis of distributed decision-making systems. He is the recipient of the University of Connecticut Distinguished Service Award and has been inducted in its Engineering Hall of Fame.

JPEG Jérôme Windsor – Median Technologies?
Former vice-president of commercial development and strategic partnerships in the heart of the i3 branch dedicated to the clinical research of United Health Group, Jérôme Windos has more than 20 years of experience in pharmaceutical companies, biotechs and CROs. He previously occupied the post of Director of European development at the company Convance, and of consultant at Pricewaterhousecoopers and Accenture. Jérôme is also the co-founder of ANS Biotech, a research company specializing in Pharmacology of Pain.

Johnny Hujol – WOO Sports JPEG
A French national residing in Boston for more than 15 years, Johnny Hujol is today the CTO and one of the founders of WOO Sports, a startup created in Boston that develops a platform making use of a performance activity tracker for athletes in action sports like kitesurfing, wakeboarding, and, snowboarding and ski.
