Launch of "Career Days" in Boston - Study in France October 2023
The Consulate General of France in Boston organized a series of orientation days for Boston-area high school students to help them explore higher education opportunities in France.
To answer inquiries from the French and Francophone community about higher education in France, the Consulate General of France in Boston organized the Journées de l’orientation or "Career Days" during the first two weeks of October.
These sessions, which were open to French-speaking high school students from several local schools, enabled high school students and their parents to understand the application process better and meet representatives from various French universities and grandes écoles.
To kick things off, two informative webinars were held on (1) the Parcoursup admissions platform for French higher education and (2) the DAP and HDAP admissions streams. These webinars, hosted by Natalie Cox, Campus France USA representative at the French Embassy in the United States, helped students familiarize themselves with the application process.
The Cultural Service of the Consulate General of France in Boston then invited student ambassadors from Sciences Po, Paris Sciences & Lettres (PSL), Paris-Saclay, and the Ecole de Management de Normandie (EM Normandie) to present their institutions, their different programs, and share their experiences as students at each of these schools. Thanks to these exchanges, the region’s high school students could understand student life in mainland France and project themselves in this perspective.
Building on the success of this 2023 edition, the Consulate General of France in Boston hopes to continue this program and organize new Career Days next year to continue to meet the needs of French-speaking high school students in the district.
